Labyrinths in Inverclyde

RIG Arts have been consulting with the Remembering Together steering group and local community councils, and have been working with ‘Walking as One’, a local group of volunteers to co-design a series of five Inverclyde Labyrinths with artist Alan Potter in response to the Inverclyde Remembering Together community consultation.

Walking as One held a Labyrinth awareness day on the 18th November 2023 at Lunderston Bay, Gourock.

A temporary classical 7 circuit labyrinth was created to allow members of the public to come together to walk, reflect and to lay down painted stones on the labyrinth to reconnect with themselves, nature, and community.

It was an opportunity for participants to think on the past, acknowledge the present and to think of the future. The delicious home baking made up for the atrocious West Coast of Scotland's wet weather.

The five separate designs for Lunderston Bay representing Inverclyde South West, Gourock, Greenock, Port Glasgow & Kilmacolm are currently with Inverclyde Council and landowners for approval. Watch this space!
