Bircan Birol Giovanna MacKenna

Bircan Birol is a documentary filmmaker who dives into the connections between generations, community ties, and often untold personal stories in her films. She strongly believes in the healing and understanding power of non-fiction storytelling for both herself and her audience.

Besides her creative documentaries, she's passionate about making films that make a social impact and collaborates on various non-fiction projects. She actively engages in participatory filmmaking, advocating for the power of self-representation and the accessibility of this medium.
