Welcome to Renfrewshire

A view of the White and Black Cart rivers meet on a sunny day

Renfrewshire is located in the west central Lowlands stretching along the south bank of the River Clyde in the north and touching into Clyde Muirsheil Country park in the west.  It encompasses largely urbanized post industrial areas including iconic towns like Paisley and Johnstone and the smaller village communities of Kilbarchan, Inchinnan, Erskine, Bridge of Weir and Lochwinnoch. Currently the region is aspiring to innovation through cultural redevelopment with major investment in the Paisley Museum (celebrating the Paisley shawl patterns and textile industry heritage) and the social and cultural regeneration of Paisley town centre through the Future Paisley initiative. The region hosts substantial creative industries and creative businesses with thriving grass roots cultural activities in music, dance and visual arts.

Remembering Together in Renfrewshire will be delivered in partnership with diverse local groups and health and wellbeing agencies working across the towns and villages of Renfrewshire supported by Renfrewshire Leisure /Renfrewshire Council.
