Phase Two Gets Underway

Within D&G, how should we collectively remember the pandemic?

We’re pleased to announce that the next stage of the Remembering Together project in Dumfries and Galloway is getting underway! Our artists from Phase One, t s Beall and Katie Anderson, will be continuing into Phase Two as they work to deliver a dispersed Community Covid Memorial across the region.

The artists will be announcing more about the project’s development in the coming weeks, and have already begun to rekindle conversations and reestablish connections that were created during Phase One of the project, which took place in 2022. In the coming weeks, they will be scheduling both public sessions and focused group activities across D&G to share information about the work and invite contributions to a variety of elements within the final memorial project.

During Phase One, which took place from August to December 2022, our commissioned artists brought co-creative activities to 7 public events across D&G, hosted 11 creative workshops with key community groups, and gathered ideas remotely through digital and printed postcard ‘Drop Boxes’ that all contributed towards the final proposal.
