Exhibition at Hospitalfield

Below are some images of the artwork created with groups in Angus during Phase 1. The artists Abbey Craig and Lily Garget were working with new art techniques to create works exploring nature, friendship and community through the lens of the pandemic. We hosted an exhibition at Hospitalfield to showcase these works, and built an event around the community sharing their experience of the pandemic in Angus.

The images show a selection of art works produced with the community groups. They show a range of styles and media including paint, prints, and collage, and feature plants and animals. You can also see a selection of photographs from the exhibition launch with local community members who had contributed their artwork.

From our time in Phase 1, it was clear the county of Angus wanted a useful, physical memorial which used local resources, is accessible, and shows community spirit. Benches and an online archive were the most popular ideas and this is what we have taken into Phase 2. We continue to develop these ideas with community groups, and are in the process of hiring a designer for the bench and website.
